Diamond Braided (or Maypole Braid) is an 8-carrier over and under basket stitch construction . It has a core made with strands in the center to provide more accurate size, firmness, extra strength and to eliminate stretch. Normally its breaking strength is equal to that of the solid braid type of the same weight.
